What types of appliances do you repair?
Answer: We repair all major home appliances including refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, and stoves. EJ’s Appliance Repair & Sales services top brands like Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire, Maytag, LG, and Samsung.
Common appliances we DON’T repair:
Water Heaters, HVAC, Countertop Appliances like Coffee Makers, Ice Makers, Mixers, and Countertop Microwaves.
Are your technicians certified?
Answer: Yes, our technicians are factory-trained, certified, and experienced with all major brands.. Certifications are only required in appliance repair when servicing a sealed refrigeration system and we ARE certified accordingly. We also undergo continuous training to stay updated on the latest technologies and repair techniques.
Do you provide a warranty for your repairs?
Answer: Absolutely. We stand behind our work with a 90-Day Warranty on labor and 1 Year on parts. If an issue arises during the warranty period, we’ll resolve it at no additional cost to you.
Do you offer same-day or emergency service?
Answer: Yes, we have the ability to offer same-day service whenever possible and emergency service for urgent issues, such as a refrigerator breakdown or water leakage. In most cases, we provide same-day or next-day appliance repair for customers in Winchester, Lexington, and surrounding Central Kentucky areas.
Troubleshooting
Why isn’t my refrigerator cooling properly?
Answer: First, check that the temperature settings haven’t been changed and the vents inside aren’t blocked by food. If the problem continues, the condenser coils might be dirty or the compressor could be failing — both are issues our techs can quickly diagnose and fix.
Why is my dishwasher not draining completely?
Answer: Clogs in the drain hose or filter are common culprits. Try cleaning out the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher and make sure the hose isn’t kinked or blocked.
My dryer runs but doesn’t heat up — what should I do?
Answer: This is often caused by a blown thermal fuse, faulty heating element, or blocked vent. Unplug the dryer, check for lint buildup, and schedule a service call if it still doesn’t heat.
My washing machine shakes violently — is that normal?
Answer: No — this can happen if the load is unbalanced or if the washer isn’t sitting level. Try redistributing clothes and making sure all four feet are flat on the floor.
Replacement/Repair Questions
Is it worth repairing my appliance, or should I replace it?
Answer: In most cases, repairing an appliance is more cost-effective than replacing it. However, in some cases, replacement may be a better option. We’ll help you make the best decision. We generally help customers decide using 3 simple questions:
1. How old is the appliance?
This is NOT a great way to decide on its own, especially without considering the next 2 questions. Some appliances may be at the end of their life before they even hit 10 years. Some can be worth a complete rebuild even after 20 years.
2. Is it in good condition aside from the current issue?
Examples can be excessive rust or wear, broken parts or knobs, missing parts, etc.
3. Do you like it?
This is my personal favorite question. If you have not liked the appliance for whatever reason, even when it’s working great, then you may want to consider replacing it.
Conclusion: All things considered, if the appliance is a reasonable age and condition, and you like it or want to keep it running, then let us see what we can do to save it for you.

Most of our repairs average $250-350 total, though some may be higher or lower depending on the specifics.
How long will the repair take?
Answer: Most appliance repairs can be completed during the initial visit. If parts need to be ordered, the repair timeline may extend by a few days. Our team will keep you updated throughout the process.
Do you use new or refurbished parts for repairs?
Answer: We use new, manufacturer-approved parts whenever possible to ensure reliability and performance. In some cases where parts are discontinued, we may use high-quality refurbished components — but only with your approval.
